Bio

I am currently a third-year student in the Bachelor of Social Work program, with a solid foundation in human services through my diploma studies. Over the past years, I have cultivated a passion for social work and human services, which has led me to develop a deep understanding of the unique needs of individuals, particularly those with neurodiversity. My professional experience includes working directly with children with neurodiverse conditions, where I supported their development and well-being in both educational and social settings. This hands-on experience has allowed me to gain insight into the complexities of neurodiversity and the importance of individualized care. Through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, I have refined my ability to develop and implement effective strategies to assist children in overcoming challenges and enhancing their quality of life.
I have also developed a strong set of skills, including communication, empathy, active listening, and problem-solving. These abilities have been integral to building rapport with clients and families, understanding their needs, and advocating for their rights. Additionally, I am highly organized, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism in fast-paced environments.

insight support services
Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
May 2023 - Current

As a Support Worker at Insight Support Services, I provide individualized support to children and youth with autism, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and other neurodiverse conditions. My role focuses on promoting social, emotional, and behavioral development by creating a safe, supportive, and engaging environment tailored to each child’s unique needs.

I work closely with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to implement strategies that enhance communication, self-regulation, daily living skills, and positive social interactions. My responsibilities include planning and facilitating structured and play-based activities, supporting behavior management, modeling appropriate social skills, and fostering independence. I also document progress and contribute to individualized care plans to ensure consistent and effective support across settings.

In addition to this experience, I have developed strong creative and communication skills through my academic work. I have created brochures, infographics, and visual presentations for various school projects and assignments, focusing on clear design and effective messaging. I enjoy combining creativity with purpose.
