Research and Data Entry for Education and Workforce Programs

Organization Description: Goal Beyond is a San Diego–based nonprofit dedicated to closing equity gaps by guiding students from high school through higher education and into workforce pathways. As the organization scales, Goal Beyond is building a research foundation to inform future initiatives and deepen impact.   Project Overview: Interns will support initial scoping of research that informs current and future programming by analyzing how changes in the higher education landscape and related legislation affect learner’s access to career pathways, education funding, and post-graduate employment. Tasks will focus on scoping research and compiling a matrix of findings. The team will maintain clean records and contribute to a centralized database that informs outreach, grant writing, and program strategy.   Project Scope & Expectations: Learners will surface, organize, and synthesize existing information related to:: ·     Higher Education legislation trends (state and federal, recent and pending, and changes related to the budget) ·     Current public funding opportunities (scholarships, grants, financial aid changes) ·     Career pathways by field of study and credential level and post-graduate employment outcomes (job placement, income by credential, etc.) ·     Key stakeholders and existing research orgs doing similar work ·     Key organizatoins, companies, foundations, regional and statewide initiatives in the education and workforce development space Learners will be expected to: ·     Collect and organize data using spreadsheets or shared platforms ·     Ensure data is categorized, labeled, and accessible for internal teams ·     Produce sythesized summaries of why research found is relevant and key points

LinkedIn Brand Revitalization

Organization Description: Goal Beyond is a San Diego–based nonprofit accelerating economic mobility by guiding learners through education, career readiness, and into the workforce. Project Overview: Learners will redesign and elevate Goal Beyond’s LinkedIn presence to better reflect its mission and drive engagement with partners, learners, and funders. The cohort will audit existing content, develop a refreshed voice and visual strategy, and deliver a brand-aligned playbook including content calendars and post templates tailored for LinkedIn audiences.   Project Scope & Expectations: Learners will engage in: • Auditing current LinkedIn performance and identifying areas for growth • Researching competitor and peer organization content on LinkedIn • Developing a refined brand voice and guidelines for LinkedIn posts • Drafting content calendars targeting high school, college, and partner audiences • Creating sample LinkedIn post templates with visuals and copy • Assembling a LinkedIn strategy playbook for ongoing use

This project will provide learners with hands-on experience in web development, digital marketing, and project management. Each learner will complete 30 hours of work over the course of 6 weeks (~ 5 hours per week), inclusive of team meetings, onboarding, and work contributed toward project deliverables.
