Our award winning documentary film is heading towards a Netflix release. It is an important film that will influence the way we manage plastic waste. There are celebrity influencers involved and so we need to optimize our social media platforms. Mainly Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and Twitter. We would like students to help us with running our marketing campaign that is aligned with our film's vision, mission, and sector. Our mission is to change the behaviour and mindset re: throwing out plastic bags, and rather recycling to a network that can use the single-use plastic. We are aiming to create a large audience and movement through social media and influencer outreach. We will ensure the students have a clear understanding of what our vision is for our film based project.

Film Synopsis: Kelly Mason’s poetic memoir, self-shot over a decade, documents hers’ and her children’s compassionate separation from their father to pave a new road, not only for the well-being of the broken family but for the planet itself.

To accomplish this, we expect the student(s) will:

  • Optimize the Facebook business platform, groups, work with Facebook Ads, and ConnectIO (UpViral) to optimize our reach.
  • Assist with a virtual screenings and events to promote our film and impact campaign.
  • Engage in social media micro-influencers, participate in sponsor collaborations and navigate an international landscape.
  • Identify media outlets such as podcasts, publicists, journalists and university / college clubs and groups that are most beneficial to share our story

Ultimately, you will be working on and engaging in content across all platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and LinkedIn) for our film project, including video, social media reels, and other collateral that we can use as go-to marketing tools.

If you like the sound of our culture, and are ready to tackle this challenge with us, then we'd love to hear from you.

Mentorship

I am happy to offer one on one internship and work closely with each student as needed. I believe in helping students recognize their skills and passions and nurturing those.
