Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from Viterbo University to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.


Learners in this program are capable of conducting research at the undergraduate level including laboratory and field research, meta-analysis, or retrospective chart reviews. This includes:

  • Generating a research hypothesis
  • Conducting basic or applied research to generate reliable data
  • Analyzing and presenting data to a wide audience

Learners have a wide-range of research interests/areas and are open to participating in a longer-term collaboration.

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. Generating a research proposal based on peer-reviewed work
  2. Generating reliable data that can be published
  3. Presenting their data in an oral presentation as well as a written manuscript.

Project Examples

Learners will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 

  • Conducting medical chart reviews to contribute to clinical research.
  • Completing laboratory research identifying bacteriophages that could be used to kill bacteria.
  • Performing field research looking at fish population and diversity around the Mississippi river.
  • Collecting and analyzing waste water samples to determine if illicit drugs remain in the water system post-cleaning process.
Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone/virtual call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the experience.

Provide a dedicated contact person who is available for weekly/bi-weekly drop-ins to address learners’ questions as well as periodic messages over the duration of the project.

Provide an opportunity for learners to present their work and receive feedback.

Provide relevant information and/or data as needed for the project.
