Student goals and capabilities

Students will work on design projects related to structural engineering and structural mechanics. Structures such as buildings, dams, chimneys, bridges, wind turbine towers, pipelines, rail roads, etc. to withstand variety of load cases including earthquake, wind, and waves. Pipeline leakage detection and train derailments prevention, corrosion detection and prevention, rehabilitation of deteriorated infrastructures are among the special project topics our students may involve with.
